Jennifer Aniston's fiancé allegedly invited Brad and Ang to her wedding. Jolie's wedding gift: burning down the church.

Saturday Night Live's Guy Fieri Sketch Was Too Hot for TV

Neetzan Zimmerman · 11/19/12 10:55AM

Actually, it's not entirely clear why Bobby Moynihan didn't get to reprise his role as controversial restaurateur Guy Fieri for this past weekend's Saturday Night Live, but thankfully a dress rehearsal recording of Moynihan as Fieri responding to Pete Wells now-legendary takedown of Guy's American Kitchen & Bar has made its way online just in time for your third mid-Monday-morning anything-but-work break.

Wal-Mart Is Scared to Death, Scared to Look at Its Own Angry Employees

Hamilton Nolan · 11/19/12 10:48AM

Wal-Mart is the largest private employer in the world. It is also stridently anti-union, fearing that a unionized workforce could be an existential threat to its cut-every-last-penny business model. Unions have been trying unsuccessfully for years to organize Wal-Mart's work force. (See here if you're unclear on why Wal-Mart workers might need a union.) But the latest push seems to have the big bad retailer a little shook.

American Music Awards: EDM Is 'The Hottest New Thing in Music'

Rich Juzwiak · 11/19/12 10:30AM

The American Music Awards aired last night. It was every bit the waste of time that you'd expect from a ceremony that, like the Billboard Music Awards, gives out trophies based on sales and presence (airplay, streaming, social networks, etc.) but fosters the illusion that it is awarding its already awarded stars based on merit (whatever that is). Notable moments included:

Are you a trombone-playing, home brew-making "hipster"? Tired of the "ironic life"? Then this NYTimes column is for you.

Breaking Dawn – Part 2's Giant Box Office Debut Validates Robsten Affair

Taylor Berman · 11/18/12 10:07PM

Looks like Kristen Stewart's public nuzzling with Rupert Sanders was good for business, after all. Breaking Dawn – Part 2, the last Twilight film, made $141.3 million over the weekend, giving it $340.9 million worldwide. This is notable not just because of the heartbreaking scandal, but also because it proves once and for all that "females can fuel an event franchise," as The Hollywood Reporter put it, so there's that.

Man Named Wiener Trying to Ban Public Nudity in San Francisco

Taylor Berman · 11/18/12 07:38PM

San Franciso is a city in which men and women are free to flaunt their respective junk in public without fear of arrest. America! What harm can a little dick or ass cause to a community if isn't swinging in your face or contaminating public seats? The answer is "a lot," according to perfectly named City Supervisor Scott Wiener.

Rihanna Plane Update: Rihanna Plane Hits Paris on the Verge of Total Anarchy

Jordan Sargent · 11/18/12 06:16PM

Please send help to the Rihanna Plane — it's apparently threatening to turn into "Lord of the Flies." The plane — which, as you may recall, is a Boeing 777 carrying hundreds of journalists, fans, contest winners, Rihanna handlers and Rihanna herself on a seven-day, seven-country promotional tour — is in Berlin today, but hit Paris yesterday as sleep-deprived and starving journalists threatened to turn on each other. Granted, some Australian guy on the plane was playing a harmonica, which is internationally recognized as grounds for justified homicide. It hasn't helped matters that the plane has been plagued by travel issues and a conspicuous lack of RiRi, whose heavenly scent is no longer keeping the journos sedated. Words being thrown around include "defeated," "restless," "mutiny" and "survival mode."

Israeli Strike in Gaza City Kills 12 As Ceasefire Talks Continue

Jordan Sargent · 11/18/12 05:06PM

There's been a whole lot of cognitive dissonance going on in the Middle East on Sunday, as violence — and the death toll — continues to escalate despite reported efforts by both sides to reach a ceasefire. Today, an Israeli strike in Gaza City aimed at a militant allegedly involved in rocket attacks against Israel killed 12 Palestinians. According to a Palestinian health official, the 12 dead included five women and four children, and the Israeli Defense Force admitted that the targeted Hamas commander was not injured.

Either 'The Hunger Games' Has Gone Next Level or Someone is Mutilating Dolphins in the Gulf of Mexico

Jordan Sargent · 11/18/12 03:43PM

If you're a dolphin (are you?), the Gulf of Mexico isn't exactly the place you want to be right now. The dolphins there are already dealing with a myriad of health issues stemming from the Deepwater Horizon explosion, and since June, a number of dolphins have washed ashore after having been killed and mutilated. The latest incident happened this past Friday, when researchers in Gulfport, Miss. found a dolphin whose lower jaw had been removed.
