OutKast to Reunite, Headline Coachella 2014
Following rumors published by Billboard yesterday afternoon and by Diddy's Revolt TV late last night, OutKast collaborator Sleepy Brown has officially confirmed that the duo will be reuniting to headline next year's Coachella Music Festival.
Billboard first reported that sources close to Big Boi and Andre 3000 claimed the two were involved in advanced talks to end their six-year hiatus for a tour that would kick off with a main-stage performance at Coachella.
That was soon followed by a Revolt TV report that all but confirmed the reunion, adding that only a live show component was planned for now, "with no new album plans in sight."
Then, this morning, "the other shoe dropped" according to Consequence of Sound, which brought news of a (mostly) official confirmation by OutKast's Dungeon Family sibling Sleepy Brown that, at the very least, the Coachella reunion was on.
As it has for the last two years, Coachella 2014 will be spread out across two weekends in April: From the 11th through the 13th, and again from the 18th through the 20th.
Fun Fact: 2014 also marks the 20th anniversary of OutKast's debut album, Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik.
