The Associated Press reports that French officials, speaking on the condition of anonymity, say that Yassine Salhi, suspected of beheading his employer and attacking a U.S.-owned chemical warehouse in Lyon, has admitted to police that he carried out the killing.

While Salhi is reported to have ties to Islamic extremists, according to the AP security officials also said that investigators have found no links in this week’s attack to international terror groups.

Salhi allegedly crashed a truck into a chemical factory and hung his employer’s head on the gate. Officials said yesterday that he took a selfie with the severed head.
