Newlywed Wife Admits Shoving Husband Off Steep Cliff
Jordan Linn Graham, 22, of Kalispell, Montana was charged Monday with killing her husband, Cody Lee Johnson, 25. Only one week after getting married, both were arguing in the Loop Trail area of Glacier National Park on July 7 when, according to the affidavit:
Graham turned and began to walk away. She stated Johnson grabbed her by the arm. Graham turned and removed Johnson’s hand from her arm. After removing Johnson’s hand from her arm, Graham stated she could have just walked away, but due to her anger, she pushed Johnson with both hands in the back and as a result, he fell face first off the cliff.
Before the incident, Graham had informed a friend that she was having second thoughts about the marriage. And at some point that on the evening of his death, Graham texted her friend: “Oh well, I’m about to talk to him.”
After shoving him off the cliff, Graham did not report anything to the police, though Johnson was reported missing the next day after he didn’t show up for work. Graham told police she had last seen him leaving the house with friends but several days later, she reported finding his dead body in the park, telling officers she knew where to find it because “It was a place he wanted to see before he died.” Graham eventually admitted to lying and is being charged with second-degree murder.
