In a video obtained by the AFP on Monday, Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau said he would free the more than 200 kidnapped Nigerian school girls in exchange for the release of captured militants. The video also shows several dozen girls, claimed by Shekau to be the missing school girls, wearing full-length hijabs and praying.

According to the BBC, three girls speak in the video, including two who said they've converted to Islam from Christianity.

"These girls, these girls you occupy yourselves with... we have indeed liberated them. These girls have become Muslims," Shekau said in the video. "We will never release them until after you release our brethren."

If real, the video would be the first sighting of the girls since they were abducted from the northern Nigerian town of Chibok on April 14.
