Mumps Outbreak Likely Tied to Jersey Shore Nightclub

New Jersey can now add the mumps to the list of diseases that the Jersey Shore is synonymous with.

According to the Monmouth Health Department, a New Jersey mumps outbreak is likely tied to a Jersey Shore bar, D'Jais, which shut down for the weekend.

Apparently all but one of the 26 "probable cases" either visited or worked at the bar in recent days. Authorities are unsure how the unconnected case — a child — was infected. Mumps is a contagious disease that is spread by saliva. At least one case has been officially confirmed to be mumps.

According to the local Patch, D’Jais has "received and carried out cleaning and sanitizing recommendations from the health department" and will reopen after the weekend.

God I am so glad my parents vaccinated me for all this crap.

Even if they accidentally had me get one of the vaccines four freaking times because they couldn't remember that I had ever gotten it.

I'm not certain about MMR (measles, mumps rubella) but the Dtap shot does wear down over the years and the decreased herd immunity makes us grown-ups more susceptible. You do not want whooping cough!

Don't assume you're still immune. I had to get an entire series of antibody titers before I started medical school, and discovered I'd lost my immunity to mumps.

So, I had to get an MMR booster. I'm expecting my autism to start any day now.

And the irony of it all ... Her son may not even be autistic, he has a form of epilepsy when not controlled, mimics the characteristics of low function autism. Landau Kleffner I think. Anyhoo, when they got his seizures under control, his brain recovered. But that isn't as sexy as saying that she cured autism.

I read an interview in Shape magazine with this twat ( DON'T JUDGE ME) after Andrew Wakefield's fraud was exposed. When asked about her now less aggressive advocacy, she said something like " Well, I got the message out but I didn't want to seem like I was beating a dead horse." I was mind-blowingly pissed. How did the reporter not follow up with "Did that horse die of Measles, Mumps or Rubella?"

Also, you decided to stop spreading word about the "perils of vaccinations" because you didn't want bore anyone!?
