Ayo Kimathi works as a small business specialist for the Department of Homeland Security. After work, he reportedly runs a website called War on the Horizon, which features your standard federal employee opinions, like describing President Obama as "a treasonous mulatto scum dweller … who will fight against reparations for Black people in amerikkka, but in favor of fag rights for freaks in amerikkka and Afrika."

On Wednesday, the Southern Poverty Law Center published a report about Kimathi, who goes by the name "Irritated Genie" online, describing him as “a gay-bashing, revenge-seeking black nationalist who advocates on his website – War on the Horizon – the mass murder of whites and the 'ethnic cleansing' of 'black-skinned Uncle Tom race traitors.' "

The various targets of Kimathi's rage include, among others, Rev. Al Sharpton, Lil Wayne, Oprah Winfrey, Whoopi Goldberg, President Obama, Condoleezza Rice, Colin Powell, "the smallhates (white so-called ‘jews’) and the white homos like Gay Edgar Hoover.”

Kimathi's co-workers at the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement told the SPLC that “everyone in the office is afraid of him."

“This guy is filled with hate,” a former supervisor said. “People are afraid he will come in with a gun someday and go postal. I am astounded, he’s employed by the federal government, let alone Homeland Security.”

The same supervisor discovered Kimathi's website last June, and said she was “shocked” to “see the hate, to know that he's a federal employee.” What's more: Kimathi, like all Homeland Security employees with outside activities, had to have the website approved by his superiors. His former supervisor said Kimathi described the site as a place to host entertainment videos and sell concert tickets.

“If he had adequately and truthfully described his group,” the former supervisor said, “I can’t imagine for a minute he would have been granted permission.”

And, in case you thought Kimathi was some number cruncher or administrator working quietly behind the scenes, this is how his former supervisor described his job duties:

Kimathi’s former supervisor said among his duties at DHS and ICE is speaking at various vendor events. He’s one of the agency’s public faces. It is his job to advocate for small business owners “white, black, historically disadvantaged, disabled veteran-owned, everybody,” the supervisor said.

“He fights for the little guy,” the supervisor said. “And he’s very good at it. He has a commanding presence. He’s very suave. It’s almost as if he has a split personality.”

UPDATE: Several minutes after this post went up, Gillian Christensen, the deputy press secretary at Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, emailed the following statement:

"ICE does not condone any type of hateful rhetoric or advocacy of violence of any kind against anyone. Every ICE employee is held to the highest standard of professional and ethical conduct. Accusations of misconduct are investigated thoroughly and if substantiated, appropriate action is taken.”
