Scandalous photos of Smash actress Katharine McPhee making out in public with the canceled show's director Michael Morris have rocked the B-list world.

Both McPhee, 29, and Morris, 47, are married — she to her 47-year-old manager Nick Cokas, he to West Wing actress Mary McCormack, with whom he shares three young daughters — but that didn't prevent them from engaging in a serious PDA session in full view of the paps in a parking lot outside a Hollywood restaurant this past Sunday.

Life & Style reported exclusively this week that McPhee and Cokas have been separated for the past six month, and are apparently headed for divorce after five years of marriage.

But according to a source who spoke with People, McCormack was under the impression that she and Morris, her husband of 10 years, were still happily married.

"Mary adores her husband. If this is true, she would have been blindsided," the insider is quoted as saying. "She is the most devoted mother and wife."

Reps for Morris and McPhee have rejected repeated requests for comment since the photos were first published by TMZ.
