Man Orders $1700 Gun Safe, Finds Bonus 300 Pounds of Weed Inside It

An Ohio man thought he was just ordering a $1700 safe for his 24 long rifles and dozen shotguns, but little did he know it had already been stuffed full of nearly half a million dollars worth of tightly wrapped Mexican bud.

The Champion Safe Co. gun safe, which was packaged by inmates in a Mexican prison, was shipped by truck to a warehouse in Ohio for local distribution. Police had hoped to question the truck driver — to no avail — because the truck driver has now vanished, as anyone who lost ten bales of Mexican pot might.

"Not only are we looking for him," Shelby County Ohio Sheriff John L. Lenhart said, "but the bad guys are, too."

And if you like your marijuana delivered in gun safes, now might be the time to mosey on over to Mexican-packaged gun safe companies — police say not only is the method drug-sniffing-dog-proof, but evidence suggests this is not the first shipment to be made this way.

I cry, too. I don't get it. If I found a large amount, my ass wouldn't leave the house (other than go on a munchie run) for at least a week.

First thought was why tell the authorities? You got a lifetimes worth of weed (if weed doesn't expire, I don't know these things, I don't smoke). Then my second thought was ya, I'd tell the authorities too, don't want the Mexican cartel knocking on my door. But now, who knows, the cartel may still be knocking on his door for payback. Time to go into hiding.
