Dear John,
Right now one user has control of assigning authorship to each individual on Crosstalk. Unfortunately, you just sent a whole lot of people to a place where they won't be able to post until after the person sifts through all the requests for author rights.
Thank goodness I'm not that person.
Regards,
BWDOCF
Hey, I don't mind.
It just means I'm sometimes slow.
(Oh yeah and I'm gray)
No respect, I tell ya.
Crosstalk lives!
I appreciate the links.
I'm getting used to it.
One thing that concerns me with the "pending" thing-
No more spamers is pretty great- limiting obnoxious people is great but my fear is that the comment sections may become a bit "kiss assy" with commentors buttering up the writers as a way to get their posts published and/or the comment sections become the same people every day posting the same things over and over- you know, like the comment sections over at Salon.com.
That and I can't wait until there are links to the other sites on the bottom of the page again...I keep forgetting about Jalopnik!
Yeah, that's a solid possibility that bugs me too. IMO, it kinda was that way before with the stars, and this is a very very similar system.
Man, I really hate that stock photos take up half of the page when you click on a story. I can learn to live with the comments, but why in the name of Denton did you go with such ginormous pictures?
I feel like the point is not whether this is an improvement over the crap we had the day before, but rather is it an improvement over the old system, with pink commenters and stars (or hell, even without the stars)...?
And the answer is, obviously, no.
