A Democratic candidate for president met with rapper and activist Killer Mike on Monday, taking a respite from the campaign trail to break bread at Busy Bee Cafe in Atlanta. Bernie Sanders made Killer Mike look big, Killer Mike made Bernie Sanders look small.

According to The Fader, Sanders ate fried chicken with gravy and a side of rice and yams.

Killer Mike is a big fan of Sanders, and endorsed the senator from Vermont last June, citing Sanders’ position on restoring the Voting Rights Act as the main reason.

Killer Mike, a well-known rapper since the 1990s, formed the hip hop group Run the Jewels with rapper El-P in 2013. In a further effort to illustrate the concept that a person running for president will do things he would never do if he weren’t running for president, Sanders also threw up the Run the Jewels sign with his new friend Killer Mike on Monday.

Killer Mike introduced Sanders at a campaign rally in Atlanta on Monday as befits the entrance of a 74-year-old man from Vermont: with rap lyrics.
