U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder is expected to announce this morning in Washington that the Justice Department will file charges against Chinese government officials for allegedly hacking into American companies for trade secrets.

This would be the U.S. government's first ever formal accusation of another country committing cyber crime against American businesses. Per ABC News:

The move carries enormous diplomatic implications, as the Justice Department and FBI are expected to announce charges Monday against several Chinese officials, according to sources. The charges will include economic espionage and theft of trade secrets.

Upon announcement, the Chinese officials named will become international fugitives.
