Jesse Jackson Jr. almost had to sell off his sweet precious mink furs and Michael Jackson memorabilia last month, and October isn't shaping up to be his month either — the former Congressman has to sell his $1.3 million Washington D.C. home to settle a $750,000 forfeiture judgement before he goes to jail for a two-and-a-half-year sentence.

Jackson was sentenced in August after a court determined he had illegally used campaign funds to pay for the aforementioned furs, music memorabilia, family vacations, televisions, and other personal items like a $43,350 gold-plated Rolex and $5,300 in mounted elk heads.

The US Marshal Service had scheduled an auction of his belongings last month, with the proceeds going towards the judgement. The auction raised about $14,000 before it was called off when questions were raised about the authenticity of items like a guitar purportedly signed by Michael Jackson and Eddie Van Halen. Although the parties agreed not to auction any of the items, out of an "abundance of caution," Jackson did not get his furs back.

Jackson's wife Sandra, a former alderman, was also sentenced to a year for her role in the scheme. Out of consideration for the couple's children, Sandra's sentence has been suspended until her husband is released.
