Alejandro Rhett is out as vice president of men’s merchandising at J. Crew, Fashion Week Daily reports. Last week, it emerged that Rhett had gloated on Instagram about surviving an earlier round of firings (in which he participated!).

According to Fashion Week Daily, Rhett was fired late on Thursday. “As soon as we were made aware, the appropriate actions took place,” a company spokesperson told the New York Post on Wednesday, without elaborating.

A spokesperson for J. Crew would neither confirm not deny Rhett’s firing to Fashion Week Daily, but issued the following statement:

We do not condone this behavior in any way. Individuals’ actions do not represent the culture of our company–this is not who we are. The tough decisions we made last week were not something we took lightly. We do our best to make decisions with care & compassion for all of our associates.

In other words: never Instagram.
