Internet Megastar Lucas 'Fred' Cruikshank Comes Out
Lucas Cruikshank, the incredibly popular Internet comedian who parlayed the fame of his YouTube character Fred Figglehorn into Nickelodeon superstardom, has officially come out.
"I’m gay," the 19-year-old Cruikshank said in an Q&A posted to his YouTube channel. "It feels so weird to say it. My family and friends have known this for like three years I just haven't felt any need to announce it on the internet."
Back in 2009, the channel Cruikshank set up for his Fred persona became the first YouTube channel to reach one million subscribers.
He has since gone on to produce three Fred films with Nickelodeon, as well as star in the short-lived TV series Marvin Marvin.
