Humans Constantly Surprised That Sharks Live in the Ocean

The news across America this summer: sharks. Alive!

Photos of sharks swimming on the Jersey shore are causing a stir. Videos of sharks swimming near the beach are in the local news. A shark sighting in Pacifica, California “has some beachgoers spooked.” On Coney Island, shark sightings this week caused authorities to close the beach.

Do people know that sharks actually live in the water? The same water that’s adjacent to the beach. They’re always there. Doesn’t seem that newsworthy.
