Stephen Colbert will not break character on The Colbert Report—not even for James Franco—but he will do it to give solid fatherly advice to teenage girls.

The real-life Colbert just made a very sincere appearance on Rookie Mag's "Ask a Grown Man" series, where he answered questions about harassment, dating, and dealing with parents.

It's no secret that IRL Colbert is more mature than his Comedy Central counterpart—the man gives good commencement speech—but seeing him in grown man mode is so touching that you'll almost want to forgive him for retiring his idiot pundit character. And wish he could legally adopt you.

"Stephen Colbert" is dead. Long live Stephen Colbert.
