Silver wolverine Animorph and CNN anchor Anderson Cooper appeared today on Howard Stern’s Sirius XM show, The Howard Stern Show, to address his feud with Alec Baldwin over the aging actor’s penchant for calling people “queens” and, yes, “cocksucking fags.”

(In a recent article for New York magazine, Baldwin called Cooper the “the self-appointed Jack Valenti of gay media culture” for saying that Baldwin should be “vilified” for his outburts.)

Being the polite gentleman that he is, Cooper ever-so-slightly hesitates before committing to pronouncing the word “cocksucker” three times in a single sentence. You can download a ringtone of the moment here.

Cooper discusses the word around 1:35 in the clip above:

Cooper: When [Baldwin] called the person ... uh ... a cocksucker, and then said he didn’t know the word ‘cocksucker’ was, you know, an anti-gay — I mean, what adult does not know calling a guy a ‘cocksucker’ —

Stern: I use the word ‘cocksucker’ all the time, and I gotta tell you something —

Cooper: You’re in a different —

Stern: I don’t consciously —

Cooper: Why is that a slur?

“To talk about a sexual act between two guys as being the worst thing you can think of, that seems to indicate...” Cooper says before interrupting himself with: “I never said he was homophobic.”
