Being a bodyguard doesn't necessarily mean that he committed war crimes. I think war crimes charges were reserved for policy makers and those who were directly involved in the concentration camps. But I'm not entirely sure. Otherwise, every German soldier would be a war criminal simply because Hitler was one.

Well, he was just a bodyguard. The trials were for anyone who had executive control or direct knowledge of the genocide.
Its like the distinction between a German soldier and an SS officer.
You can't fault the guy for what amounts to being in an awkward position at a bad time.
It'd be like trying the Secret Service for war crimes for protecting the President.
It's hard to imagine that he knew less about what was going on in the camps than anyone else in Hitler's inner circle, but I am sure you are right.

I don't doubt it, his secretaries all praised his politeness and kindness towards them and their families. He also loved animals and was a vegetarian.
Those close to Osama Bin Laden also said he was extremely modest and kind even to those in his organization who stole or broke other rules.
They were both human beings, not supernatural monsters.

He was a vegetarian only because he had some variant of irritable bowel syndrome, and his doctors told him to adopt a vegetarian diet to deal with it.
