I guess I should have been reading more about this because I am curios to know what went on here. I mean the whole thing. Why did he attack those people and why did he kidnap her?
He had "a crush" on her, according to the article. It`s very disturbing.
He was a close family friend who apparently developed a sexual attraction the 16 year old girl. According to her friend, she was uninterested and didn't want to be alone with him anymore, but at least at some point didn't want to tell because she didn't want to ruin her parents' friendship with the guy. It's just awful, the mother and 8 year old brother are dead, and the father has to deal with the fact that his best friend, a man he let into the family with complete trust, was a deranged predator.
I live in San Diego, and the press here had originally reported that he was the mother's landlord, and possibly romantically involved with her. He developed a perverse fascination with the daughter. Weird world we live in.
Yes, I just read the article. Seems to not have been a good situation. One strange thing stuck out at me though: under what circumstances was this man allowed to take this girl to Hollywood for a week? Were other people going on the trip (like her brother)? I guess law enforcement will have to sort this mess out and make sure all ducks are in a row.
I'm of course very happy that she's safe, but I've watched far too much ID Channel to not wonder if she *might* be involved in the whole thing more than we're aware of.... just playing devil's advocate... :(
She's a minor either way.
My father always told me to distrust people who feel inclined to play the devil's advocate. The older I get; the more I understand that. Usually they are dicks. You've proven this yet again. Stop watching TV, learn some compassion.
With a tinge of shame at watching CNN's crime coverage, I watched an interview with her girlfriend on CNN, and the friend said Hannah was aware of the man's "crush" on her, uninterested and didn't want to be alone with him.
Ugh. This poor girl just survived who-knows-what with a monster who murdered her mother and brother, but there are always going to be people who say "Well, she probably wanted it." What part of a creepy 40 year old obsessed with a 16 year old and then killing her family makes you think she was "in on it"? God, I pity her twice as much now just envisioning a lifetime of dealing with the whispers of heartless voyeurs like you.
Not usually a fan of law enforcement gunning people down but this seems like the optimal outcome.
They said he had bomb making materials on him and possibly rigged the house and his car up, and that he was a 'survivalist.'
Im of 2minds:
i wish he were alive to live the rest of his life in torture.
im glad i wont have to see his crazy assface for years now. burn in hell, POS.
No, the optimal outcome is for him to be arrested and tried for his crimes. That's always the optimal outcome.
FBIs been killing a lot of suspects lately.
In this case it was probably warranted, but dead men tell no tales and all that.
Yeah, how dare they shoot an armed man who had kidnapped a teenage girl?!
(...Is there some way we can blame this on Obama...?)
Saved lots of money on the trial.
What did this man know about Benghazi/Trayvon Martin/The Muslim Brotherhood?
