Rushing to a job interview via the London tube last Monday morning, a man found his way temporarily blocked by another commuter, so he pushed past the fellow and told him to go fuck himself. Unfortunately, that other man was Matt Buckland, the recruiter who was supposed to interview him for a software development position. Awkwaaard.

Buckland, who called the unnamed job candidate out on Twitter, told the BBC he had just stepped out of the way to let a lady pass when someone shoved him, almost knocking him over. He was shocked to see that same rude guy sit down across from him as his 8:30 interview.

"It was totally awkward," he said, "So I approached it by asking him if he'd had a good commute that morning. We laughed it off and in a very British way I somehow ended up apologizing."

The subway shover didn't get end up with the job, although Buckland claimed it wasn't because of his behavior on the tube that morning.

"As it worked out, he wasn't right for the role," he said.

Buckland's a better man than I suspect most of us would have been in that situation.
