In a separate hostage situation unfolding in France today, police have surrounded a kosher market in eastern Paris where a gunman believed to be responsible for Thursday's killing of a police officer and injuring a street sweeper has reportedly taken several hostages, including children.

One person, the Belfast Telegraph reports, has been injured after shots were fired.

Update, 8:28 a.m.: Agence France-Presse is reporting two people have been killed in the standoff.

Update, 8:41 a.m.: Police have identified two suspects wanted in connection to today's hostage situation: Amedy Coulibaly and Hayat Boumeddiene.

One of suspects is said to be 32 years old, with a long criminal record for thefts drug-related offences, and implicated in the same criminal investigation as Cherif Kouachi.

Update, 8:52 a.m.: A source tells Reuters that Amedy Coulibaly trained in the same terrorist cell as Charlie Hebdo shooters Cherif and Said Kouachi.

Update, 9:20 a.m.: Between five and six have reportedly taken hostage, some "gravely wounded." A police official told The Guardian that a gunman yelled, "You know who I am!" as he opened fire.

Update, 10:02 a.m.: The Paris Public Prosecutor's Office has confirmed to ABC News that the two hostages situation are related.
