A snake eating a crocodile? That's so earlier this week. Now it's all about otters that eat alligators.

Not to be outdone by Australia in the animals-devouring-animals department, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service posted photos of the cuddliest little interspecies murder ever on Facebook Tuesday.

This all went down at Florida's Lake Woodruff National Wildlife Refuge—is this the first appearance of Florida Otter?—in 2011. Photographer Geoff Walsh could tell the alligator was being eaten by the "crunching noises" as it sunk from view.

Aww, how cute! It's chomping on the bones of its prey!

Although it's unusual for an otter to go after a gator, it's not unheard of. They normally eat less dangerous things like fish and crustaceans, but they've been known to dine on reptiles and amphibians from time to time.
