Professional wrestler and food enthusiast Bryan Smith needs your help. For some reason, his Manor Professional Wrestling Dinner Theater outside Orlando hasn't reached Medieval Times-style levels of success just yet.

Perhaps it's the ticket prices—$89 for adults, $60 for kids 12 and under (but discounts are available, and it's free for anyone under 3). Perhaps it's the evening show's weirdly Renaissance Festival-themed backstory, or the apparent awkwardness of the grappling characters in the video above. (No offense, Chiva the Soccer-Playing Goat, Shadow of the Colossus, and Slave Girl DeNila.) Maybe it's the risk of getting wrestler-sweat in your tossed green salad and oven-baked chicken.

Whatever the reason, Smith has had a slow start in 2013. He was only 1/1000th of the way to his $150,000 Kickstarter goal this afternoon, despite a favorable write-up last week by Central Florida's News 13 TV:

"Roasted chicken, potatoes, vegetables. And then we have a kids' menu as well," said Smith. "Our characters are from all over, just like we expect our tourists, our local fans. We have people from all walks of life."

They had a sold out show for a recent Friday night.

Now, they have six shows scheduled for 2014.

Smith said Central Florida is the perfect place for them to grow... Now he's working with city leaders in hopes of finding a permanent building for his company.

Maybe the tide will turn, though. Manor's theatrics get favorable reviews on Yelp and TripAdvisor, even from pro-wrestling skeptics. "We got a groupon for half off to goto this so for $20 per person I thought - what is the worst that can happen?" wrote one commenter. "My son and husband had a great time!...The matches were cheesy, but to me that is what made it fun."

She added: "The food was decent, but not great."

What wine and cheese pair best with spandex singlets and suplexes? If Smith can figure out the answer to that, he may ankle-lock Orlando's dinnertime jousters and circuses. (But he probably still won't get $150,000 in Kickstarter pledges.)
