Florida Man Stages Fake Burglary to Get Out of Going to Work
A Florida man hated his job so much that he staged a fake break-in at his house and called the police so he would have an excuse to say home.
Police say Dwayne Yeager called the cops around 7:25 am on Monday to report that a burglar had broken into his house. He told the dispatcher the windows in his son's bedroom were open and that he saw a white Honda Civic pull away when he arrived.
But when the officers began canvassing the area, Yeager's ruse fell apart.
Deputies spoke to neighbors and learned that Yeager was seen leaving the house at 6:30 a.m., then returning home at 7:15 a.m. Deputies said Yeager was then seen walking in the front door, lifting the blinds and opening the front bedroom window.
According to the report, Yeager told officers his wife was "adamant that he go to work and he didn't want to." According to the report, Yeager said he worked in a fabrication job at Dooson Hydro Technology.
He also told them he didn't think he could be arrested for making a false report.
He was then arrested for making a false report.
