Seven people were found dead in four homes last night after a gunman went on a killing spree throughout Tyrone, Mo. The shooter was later found dead of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound.

CNN reports that a girl who escaped one of the homes called the Texas County Sheriff's office at about 10:15 pm lat night. Responding officers discovered two bodies in her house; five more bodies and one injured person were found in three nearby homes.

The suspect, the AP reports, was found dead in a neighboring Shannon County, apparently from an self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. The names of the victims and shooter have not been released yet.

"In our job, we see a lot of bad stuff, and this is bad," Missouri State Highway Patrol Sgt. Jeff Kinder told CNN. "This is also hard on the police officers who are working out there. It's not natural to see that sort of thing."
