Can anything kill Dick Van Dyke?
I hope not. I hope he lives forever, adroitly avoiding mishaps and exuding congeniality, kindness, and good humor wherever he goes. He is the personification of the world I hoped to grow up to join when I was a child. It never quite existed, but it should have, and he still behaves as if it did. I know multiple people who've interacted with him, and not one of them has a bad word to say. I LOVE YOU, DICK VAN DYKE.
I love him too.
Here! Here! (Hear! Hear!???)
Meanwhile, Rose Marie had her 90th birthday last week.
Yep. Him and Mel Brooks. May they continue on and on.

That ottoman has been trying to take him out for years.
All joking aside, I used to watch this show religiously on Nick at Nite as a kid and I always got so happy in the openings where he would knowingly evade that ottoman. I didn't want anything bad to happen to him! (For real, this is a thought process I had as a child.)
And, as an aside, what are Sally and Buddy doing there writing before Rob gets home?! I never noticed that before. Highly suspicious!
Coordinates for maximum damage. They know his patterns. Plotting. They want control over the show.
Glad I'm not the only person that watched this as a kid. I fell in love with Mary Tyler Moore in this show.
Me too! And, oddly, I fell in love with Valerie Harper on the MTM show.
That's fucking magical. WTF. I think Dick Van Dyke might be my higher power.
Works for me.
Dick Van Dyke is still among us?
YES! 87 and going strong!
It was British revenge for that awful Cockney accent.
Yes, they put extra smoke in his Jag's wiring.
I wish I had read the comments before I posted that word for word. Sorry.
As did I (not verbatim though)
