The decomposed body of a Mexican actress missing since last February was found in the water tank of a Mexico City apartment building on Christmas Eve. Health officials discovered Carmen Yarira Esparza Noriega's remains after apartment residents complained about the flavor of their drinking water. Police were able to identify her using her hip and breast implants, according to the New York Daily News.

Noriega, 27, lived in the apartment building but—following a recent break-up—had reportedly planned to move out. Officials and the woman's family, the Daily Mail reports, initially feared Noriega had been abducted into sex trafficking but now believe her ex-boyfriend may have been responsible.

"She was a talented and beautiful woman who dreamed of being an actress, her friend Javier Paz told the Daily Mail. "When she failed to turn up at the clinic where she worked, we all thought that she might have been kidnapped and sold off into the sex trafficking industry. But it seems that her body was back in her apartment block the whole time."
