Couple Found Dead at Staten Island Hotel In Apparent Dual Overdose
A couple in Staten Island was found dead in their bed at a Hilton Garden Inn on Staten Island on Friday, police say. The couple was found clutching each other and fully clothed in an apparent dual overdose.
Investigators believe that the couple died of drug overdoses, though no drug paraphernalia was found at the scene, police say.
According to the NYPD, Bronx resident Theresa Mateo, 34, and Staten Island resident Scott Jacobi, 37, were discovered unconscious and unresponsive by hotel workers at around 12:53 p.m. on Friday. Cops say they were found in bed, fully-clothed and clutching each other, and paramedics pronounced them dead at the scene.
The bodies were reportedly discovered by a hotel maid.
