Today Chris Christie gave a two hour press conference denying that he was a part of a diabolical political scheme to punish the mayor of Fort Lee by creating a traffic jam. After the press conference, he went to Fort Lee, where he caused another traffic jam.

During the press conference, Christie said he fired his deputy chief of staff Bridget Kelly, who, it was recently revealed, emailed Christie's high school buddy David Wildstein, who controlled the George Washington Bridge in his capacity as a political appointee at the Port Authority. She told him that it was "Time for some traffic problems in Fort Lee," an apparent payback for Fort Lee's mayor, Mark Sokolich, who declined to endorse Christie in the last election.

Afterwards, Christie went to Fort Lee to personally apologize to Sokolich — who accepted the apology saying, "He said he wasn't involved...And you know what, we accept that," — and caused another Fort Lee traffic jam where, according to the LA Times, traffic again came to a standstill.

Police closed one lane on Main Street, and rush-hour traffic sat at a stand-still as cars waited to get onto – and off of – the George Washington Bridge and the maze of one-way streets leading to it.
