Chris Brown Won't Play "Hood Clubs" or "Nigga Parties" After Shooting
Chris Brown, an emphatic "fuck you" from God to humanity, involuntarily turtled up on stage when five people were shot during a San Jose nightclub appearance early Sunday morning. Now he's voluntarily turtling up in life by refusing to play any clubs he deems "too hood," TMZ reports.
"[T'he singer called an emergency meeting instructing his crew to pull him out of all future bookings at venues with a history of violence or security issues," a source told TMZ.
The San Jose Mercury-News reports police warned the owner of the Fiesta that something could go down during Brown's appearance, and they believe the club hired additional bouncers for that night, but also found witnesses who said the bar let people in too quickly and pat-downs for guns were "inconsistent."
The night after the shooting, Brown appeared at San Diego's Parq with extra security. He posted a video on Instagram from the event, since deleted, writing "No more nigga parties! Only this type shit!"
It's cool and responsible of Brown to be so concerned about the safety of his fans, except that TMZ claims he isn't.
"We're told Brown doesn't want to be associated with shootings — and is making the change to protect his image, his ass, and his fans. Not necessarily in that order."
Brown hasn't said what he considers a "hood club" or a "nigga party," and there are no reports of any upcoming appearances being canceled. Brown is starting an arena tour with Trey Songz and Tyga later this month that will run through early March, so it doesn't seem he has much to worry about.
All five people wounded in the San Jose shooting reportedly survived.
