Chili's Cook Fired for Posting "Sexy" Shirtless Kitchen Pics on Facebook
A cook at a Valrico, Fla. Chili's was fired from his job after he posted pictures of himself posing shirtless in the restaurant's kitchen to Facebook with the title "Sexy Cooks Of Chili's."
"Chili's clearly does not encourage this type of behavior in our restaurants. We maintain very high standards of food quality, safety and cleanliness and took immediate steps to ensure the restaurant continues to follow these requirements," the restaurant said in a statement to WFTS. "Additionally, we ended this team member's employment after learning of his conduct."
The news station also learned that one of the cook's photos, in which he lays on a food prep table shirtless, wasn't technically in violation of any health codes:
We showed these pictures to the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, the agency that regulates restaurants. It said there did not appear to be any violations in the photos because no food was being prepared.
After seeing the photos, the Chili's in Valrico passed a surprise inspection with no critical violations.
"In some things I think ignorance is bliss," Cindy Colon, an apparently concerned Chili's customer, told WFTS. "If you know what is going on, I don't think you would ever eat out to be honest with you." (Same.)
Luckily for the cook, who goes by the name Justin Speekz, he appears to have a backup career as Tampa rapper J-Speekz.
He'll be fine.
