Chaperone Says Horny Dads Weren't the Reason Teen Was Booted From Prom
A week after a 17-year-old girl made international news with her account of being kicked out of her homeschool prom because some dads at the event thought her outfit could arouse "impure thoughts," a chaperone for the dance has come forward to claim there's more to the story.
Ann Duncan told WTVR she saw Clare, the teenager at the center of the controversy, at the Richmond homeschool prom. Duncan disputes that the infamous dress was long enough, and denies that dads were ogling Clare.

Although the dress may have been the right length at the beginning of the night—Clare says she demonstrated to a chaperone on the way in that it met the "finger-length" requirement—it rode up as the event went on.
"It was right below her butt cheeks by the time I saw her," Duncan said.
But she also argued there's no way a group of dads on the balcony noticed those same teenage butt cheeks, because the dance was too crowded.
"'There were 500 kids there, so to be able to even say what they were looking at would be really difficult."
In Clare's account of what happened, she said she was told a complaint from one of those fathers was the reason she was kicked out.
She and her boyfriend, James, responded in a new video that "When the lady kicked me out, they said the dads complained about my dancing and that meant that they had to have been watching me."
"The dads did make me uncomfortable at the prom," she said, "Because there were so many of them, and they were doing nothing but sitting there watching everybody."
As of Monday, the prom still hadn't refunded Clare's ticket, or those of the friends who left when she was kicked out.
