At dusk, Banksy revealed the newest piece in his month-long rampage of New York City's streets: a Grim Reaper in a scythe-powered bumper car, listlessly bobbing to Blue Öyster Cult's "Don't Fear the Reaper." The installation sits at the corner of Houston and Elizabeth Streets and, according to Banksy's site, will remain there through Sunday.

"The police have arrived," Animal reported around 7p.m. "They’re cool with whatever’s happening, but the crowd dented a car, so…"

Updated, 7:45 p.m.: Banksy's site now has an audio guide to the exhibition. "Welcome to the fair, which life isn't," says a lisping narrator over an accordion. "This sculpture perfectly represents death in that—it's a bit random." The self-mocking continues: "It often said that the role of art is to remind us of our mortality. Banksy's take on that seems to be mounting an art show that goes on for so long, we all wish we were dead already."

Apparently he reads the comments.
