Anthony Weiner's horrible week continues to grow worse: a new Quinnipiac University poll puts the disgraced former congressman in fourth place in the race to become New York's next mayor, a dramatic drop from last week's poll, which had Weiner in first.

Just 16 percent of likely Democratic voters said they would vote for Weiner, down from 26 percent in last week's poll. Christine Quinn currently leads the pack with 27 percent, followed by Bill de Blasio at 21 percent, and William Thompson with 20 percent.

"With six weeks to go, anything can happen, but it looks like former Congressman Anthony Weiner may have sexted himself right out of the race for New York City mayor," said Maurice Carroll, the director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute.

Weiner's now-former campaign manager and an outspoken New York City department of education employee agree with Carroll's assessment, but so does another high profile New York politician, one you would think would be more forgiving of Weiner's past. In an interview Monday, former frequenter-of-prostitutes, ex-New York Governor and current New York City comptroller candidate Eliot Spitzer said that he will not vote for Weiner in the coming election.

"You don't go back at the very top," Spitzer said. "I'm not trying to become the mayor or the governor again."
