Amtrak Train Derails in Philadelphia, Killing at Least Two People
An Amtrak train veered off the rails on Sunday morning, causing a crash that killed two people and injured others.
According to The New York Times, the lead engine of Amtrak’s Train 89 came off the tracks during a ride from New York City to Savannah, Georgia. It was carrying 340 passengers and seven crew members. The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that there were two fatalities.

Amtrak has been under fire since last year, when a derailment killed eight people and injured 200 more. According to data from the Federal Railroad Administration, trains derail about 30 times each year.
