Alyssa Milano Returns to Maxim After 15 Years Having Not Aged a Day
It's been 15 years since Alyssa Milano last covered the lad mag Maxim, but you wouldn't know it to look at her.
The 40-year-old mother-of-one grew up before America's eyes on the classic '80s sitcom Who's the Boss?, but it seems she stopped aging right around the time she joined Melrose Place as a series regular in 1998.
That was the same year she last appeared on Maxim's wrapper — until this month, that is.
Back with a brand new series (Mistresses) on the channel that launched her career (ABC), Milano is looking back on her days as a child star, recalling how writers would work her own puberty into the show.
"[I]t only got embarrassing when the show would take what was going on with me and write it into the show, like 'Samantha's First Bra,'" she told the publication. "It was like, OK, guys, do we really need to do this? But what an awesome time stamp!"
Given all the current buzz surrounding former child entertainers losing themselves in adulthood, Milano tells Maxim she feel "lucky" to have made it out alive.
"I think Christina Applegate and I are the only two who maintained some sort of career path past the shows that launched us," she says. " But I have a great family, and I look at a lot of these kids who struggle in the industry and think they'd have struggled no matter what they did."
