Alex Jones’s paranoid rantings have always been fun, sure, but they never really held any real world significance. Now that our presumptive Republican nominee gets a good portion of his news from Jones and others like him, though, it actually matters when these radio crackpots say things like, oh, “this [Trump University] judge is the equivalent of a Hispanic grand dragon,” for instance.

Jones finally offered his audience of chemtrail-fiends and doomsday preppers some insight into the Trump University case this morning with none other than special guest and dirty GOP trickster Roger Stone. The men spend a good amount of time connecting Judge Gonzalo Curiel to the National Council of La Raza, a progressive, pro-immigration Latino advocate group.

During the course of the segment, Jones and Stone utter such delightful soundbites as:

  • “[Gonzalo Curiel] is the head lawyer over a lawyer group based in California, that for decades has been promoting, basically, race-based brainwashing.”
  • “I’ll tell you it’s a fair headline to say that this judge is the equivalent of a Hispanic grand dragon.”
  • “You know, the Klan says they’re persecuted, too.”
  • “When people organize politically and say, ‘We’re only for our group,” classically liberal views are, that’s dangerous and bad—a la Adolf Hitler.”
  • “[Trump] is smart like a Fox.”
  • “You know, [college is] what you take away from it. Of course there’s going to be a few sour grapes. Ninety-eight percent approval rating in [Trump University].”
  • “We’ve got to go to break, but look—anti-Trump people wave Mexican flags, beat up women, and then on the news, they blame Trump.”

Of course, the biggest issue here (or one of them, at least) is that Curiel isn’t involved with La Raza at all. He is, however, a member of La Raza Lawyers of California—otherwise known as the wholly unaffiliated Latino Bar Association of California.

We’re sure Alex Jones will be issuing a correction just as soon as he finishes shrieking.
