The parks of Ypsilanti are finally safe again: Police have identified and warned the person suspected of repeatedly pooping on a slide in a popular Ypsilanti park. Since the warning, police say the slide has remained feces-free.

Ypsilanti Police Chief Tony DiGiusti said no charges were brought against the suspect, who lives in a halfway house near the park.

During his months-long crime streak—from November to April—the serial pooper defecated on the slide so often that residents installed a surveillance camera in a nearby tree. Some residents even paid for a billboard to help catch the mystery pooper.

"This whole saga has generated a lot interest in Prospect Park from around the country." City Council Member Brian Robb told MLive.com."It's great that the police were able to put a stop to this just as the weather warmed up."

"Let's just hope there aren't any copy cat crimes," he added.
