Active Shooter Reported at Navy Yard
According to reports, Washington’s Navy Yard has been shut down due to reports of an active shooter.
U.S. Park Police responded to the area around 7:40 a.m., the Washington Post reports. Nearby public streets have been shut down “due to police activity” and employees have reportedly been advised to “lockdown/shelter in place.”

At least 13 people were killed in 2013 when a gunman opened fire in the same area.
Update 8:30 a.m.
According to the AP, an official confirms “shots have been reported in a building on the Washington Navy Yard campus.”
Update 9 a.m.
Officials are still searching the military campus but say they’ve found no evidence of a victim or shooter.
