9-Month-Old Baby Accused of Trying to Murder Police in Pakistan
Muhammad Mosa Khan, also known as "Musa," appeared in a Pakistani court this week, one of 30 people accused of trying to steal gas and murder police by stoning them to death. Musa is 9 months old.
According to charges filed Feb. 1, Musa attacked workers of a state-run gas company and tried to pelt police with stones.
At his court appearance, the baby sat on his grandfather's lap and was granted bail. His next hearing was scheduled for April 12.
The child's father said police had registered a fake case against him, his son, and the others. They were actually protesting, not trying to steal gas.
"Our crime is that we had protested against non-availability of electricity in our locality," he said, according to the Times of India.
Punjab's Chief Minister called for "stern action" against the officials who brought the case against the infant. The assistant superintendent who filed the charges has since been fired.
