First the tragic wine spill in Canada and now this: On Saturday, a truck carrying 76,000 pounds of beef ribs caught fire on a highway in southern California, snarling traffic in the area for more than two hours.

According to the San Bernardino County Fire Department, the truck's rear wheels ignited around 6 pm on Saturday. Two hours and 6,500 gallons of water later, the fire was finally extinguished but not before shutting down Interstate 40 in both directions.

Thankfully, no one was injured in the fire, which had completely engulfed the truck before firefighters arrived.

And the meat wasn't entirely wasted: The burning truck had a "wonderful BBQ beef rib odor to it," Al Franco, the fire department's spokesman, told the San Bernardino Sun.
