Randi Zuckerberg Is Writing a Lifestyle Book Called Dot Complicated
Randi Zuckerberg is writing two books — one to guide you, and one to guide your children.
Sister to Mark and our generation's Emily Post of "digital etiquette," Zuckerberg has just signed a two-part book deal for which she will write a memoir. And a children's book.
HarperCollins announced Wednesday that Randi Zuckerberg, a social media executive and entrepreneur who left Facebook in 2011, plans a memoir/lifestyle book titled "Dot Complicated" and a children's story.
Dot Complicated, the self-help(ish) saga and same-ridiculously-named online newsletter, "will combine personal and professional insights for the digital age, from Zuckerberg's years as Facebook's marketing director to becoming a mother in 2011."
Zuckerberg, who called for the end of anonymity on the internet a year before accidentally posting a "private" family photo on Facebook, said that technology has changed almost every part of people's lives, resulting in a digital society "that feels a lot like the wild, wild west," Jim West, desperado, rough rider, no you don't want nada.
And that tacked on thing about the children's book? Randi just thought — has always known, really — that she has like at least four or five good children's books in her and anyway, she'll already be writing that other book so it's really no big deal.
Dot Complicated is a powerful and emotionally intense Scorpio and is scheduled for release on November 5.
