On Friday morning, while the horror at at Sandy Hook elementary was unfolding, Von I. Meyer, a 60-year-old man in Cedar Lake, Indiana, was arrested after he threatened to set his wife on fire and enter a nearby elementary school to "kill as many people as he could." After searching Meyer's home, police found 47 weapons and a stockpile of ammunition worth over $100,000.

Authorities filed felony intimidation charges against Meyer, and he's currently being held without bond.

And in other shooting related news, a man in Newport Beach, California was arrested yesterday afternoon after firing 50 shots in the parking lot of the Fashion Island mall. The mall quickly went into lockdown, and no one was injured. 42-year-old Marcos Gurrola was arrested (by bicycle police, no less) and charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

The video below was reportedly taken from the mall's parking lot. According to the filmer, you can briefly see the shooter "beneath the little reddish triangle immediately left of the two palm trees in the center of the picture."
