Not since 1994—the year Kurt Cobain committed suicide—have Nirvana fans experienced the amount of tragedy that Paul McCartney is about to cause by appearing on stage tonight with "Dave Grohl and Friends," AKA the remaining members of Nirvana. The news broke this morning when The Sun reported that McCartney was not only too British to know who Nirvana was, but also too old to remember who he was sharing the stage with:

"I didn't really know who they were," the 70-year-old Beatles legend told The Sun. "They are saying how good it is to be back together. I said, 'Whoa? You guys haven't played together for all that time? And somebody whispered to me, 'That's Nirvana. You're Kurt.' I couldn't believe it."

Nirvana fans, of course, didn't really believe the news at first:

Luckily, we all still have a few hours left until we are forced to witness the worst (and only) thing to happen to Nirvana fans in the last 18 years.
