Another Elmo Accuser Comes Forward, Offering Tales of Miami Partying
Kevin Clash may no longer be shoving his hand deep inside Elmo on a regular basis, but he continues to teach America's children how to count.
Today's number is 4. 1-2-3-4.
Four is one more than three, one less than five, and exactly the number of Elmo accusers who have come forward with stories of inappropriate sexual activity (so far).
Like the one-two-three other men, Kevin Clash's fourth accuser claims that the former voice of Elmo began a relationship with him when he was underage.
This man, who filed a lawsuit against Clash in New York under the name "John Doe", says he and Clash met in Miami Beach in the mid-90s, when he was 16 or 17. (Clash would have been in his mid-thirties.)
In the lawsuit, the accuser says that he and Clash had sex multiple times over the course of a New York City trip paid for by Clash. Clash allegedly paid for his plane ticket, and set him up with a place to stay and some spending money. The accuser's lawyer told TMZ that their lawsuit alleges "Kevin Clash knowingly paid to transport a minor across state lines for the purpose of satisfying his sexual interests."
"John Doe" says the relationship caused him to suffer "tremendous emotional, mental, and psychological damage." He is the third accuser to file suit against Clash; the first accuser received a payout in exchange for staying out of court.
