Second Elmo Accuser Clarifies Allegations: No Penetration, Just Masturbation
At a press conference this afternoon, Cecil Singleton, the second person to accuse Elmo voice actor Kevin Clash of underage sex in as many weeks, sought to clarify exactly what his relationship with Clash entailed.
The two met, according to Singleton, in a gay chat line room in 2003, when Singleton, a Harlem native, was 15.
After a period of courting by Clash that involved "nice dinners" and money, the two entered into a sexual relationship that lasted about two weeks. Singleton admits he and Clash never had intercourse, but says they did do a bunch of other sexual stuff like "groping, masturbation, intense kissing, dry-humping."
According to Singleton, he did eventually sleep with Clash, though that wasn't until after becoming a consenting adult.
Meanwhile, The Smoking Gun has been sifting through Singleton's online presence — particularly his Facebook and MySpace pages — and uncovering some fairly explicit photos of the self-proclaimed "exhibitionist" who lists Cruel Intentions as a favorite movie in various stages of undress.
One photo of Singleton showing off his posterior on a NYC subway car is accompanied by the iconoclastic statement "if I decide to take erotic pictures, or flash my ‘poonanie', it is my prerogative & there isn't a damn thing wrong with it."
Speaking out for the first time since Sesame Workshop announced his resignation earlier today, Clash told The Hollywood Reporter he leaves the children's program "with a very heavy heart."
"Personal matters have diverted attention away from the important work Sesame Street is doing and I cannot allow it to go on any longer," the 28-year veteran said. "I am deeply sorry to be leaving and am looking forward to resolving these personal matters privately."
