Paris Hilton is currently facing some major backlash in Saudi Arabia. Hilton — the less-famous niece of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stars Kim and Kyle Richards — has just opened a store to sell her "handbags and accessories" at the Mecca Mall.

Hilton announced the opening of the store on her blog last week. Since then, many have fired back on Twitter, angry that Hilton would be allowed to open shop in Muhammad's birthplace and the holy mall which houses only holy institutions such as KFC and Hardee's. The angry tweets mostly focus on her porn star past, according the New York Daily News saying things like:

Saudi claim there are other ways to allow for pilgrims, & if religiosity is of such importance, why is @ParisHilton being allowed a store in Mecca?

How can someone who made such a video open a store in the holy city next to the Grand Mosque? It is not acceptable to have such a woman open her store here.

Hilton herself has not responded to the criticism, but has said this:
