Elmo Sex Scandal Burps Up First Email; Read It To Your Children in Elmo's Voice [UPDATE]
If we learn one thing from the November scandals, it will probably be that no one should ever communicate with another person if they desire sex with them. Especially via email.
TMZ has just released portions of an email allegedly sent from the voice of Elmo, Kevin Clash, to the man who claims the voice actor began a sexual relationship with him when they were 45 and 16 years old, respectively.
Since we already know that Clash was disciplined by Sesame Workshop officials for "inappropriate use of company email," and since he has already acknowledged having a sexual relationship with his accuser (according to Clash, after the younger man had already turned 18), the biggest revelation of this leak is that, even when he is talking about having sex, Clash is unable to tap out of the Elmo "I love you"/"dreams come true" mindset.
Here are the email snippets provided by TMZ, to be read in Elmo's voice:
"I'm sorry that I keep talking about sex with you, its driving me insane."
"I want you to know that I love you and I will never hurt you. I'm here to protect you and make sure your dreams come true."
"I'll have my assistant book a ticket for you to come to NY and we can talk about this in person."
While this email was sent after the accuser had turned 18, TMZ claims to be in possession of another missive in which Clash purportedly acknowledges that he and the younger man had an affair when the latter was 16. Sesame Workshop officials say they believe that email is fraudulent.
Since news of the scandal broke, Clash has taken a leave of absence from Sesame Street. He maintains that the accusations are "false and defamatory."
