700 Tons of Gold Ore Is Floating Somewhere Off the Coast of Russia
A Russian ship carrying 700 tons of gold ore has gone missing. The pirate's booty was on board a ship sailing from Neran to Feklistov Island in the Sea of Okhotsk.
Polymetal, the company who hired the vessel, would not estimate the value of the missing gold ore.
The vessel went missing shortly after sending out a distress call Sunday. The ship's nine-person crew is also missing.
Reports that the ship's captain simply absconded with the precious metal and sold it to Cash4Gold are unconfirmed.
